Jira Administrator (Active Secret Security Clearance or Ability to Obtain)

Due to Government Contract and rules/regulations, all viable candidates must be US Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance or US Citizens with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
This role is a 12 month contract and is fully remote. All viable candidates must be located in EST. Salary: $32-35/hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Jira Administrator to manage, configure, and optimize our Jira environment. The ideal candidate will ensure that Jira supports business workflows, project management processes, and reporting needs while maintaining system performance, security, and usability. This role involves close collaboration with IT, project managers, developers, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities: :
• Administer, configure, and maintain Jira systems provided by Atlassian.
• Design, customize, and manage workflows, issue types, fields, screens, and permissions.
• Create and manage projects, boards, dashboards, and filters.
• Configure automation rules to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Manage user accounts, roles, groups, and access permissions.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Implement and maintain integrations with internal and third-party tools.
• Perform system upgrades, backups, and routine maintenance.
• Develop reports and dashboards to support leadership and project teams.
• Provide end-user training, documentation, and technical support.
• Enforce governance, security standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into Jira solutions.

Requirements: :
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience administering Jira in an enterprise environment.
