Your Purpose

Bitso is a regulated crypto-financial services unicorn with over 9 million users, focused on making crypto useful for everyday life in Latin America. Our core mission is about providing financial freedom and security. The AuthRevamp project is the cornerstone of that security.

We're not just rebuilding an authentication system; we are building the secure, scalable foundation for the next 10 million users. This isn't a sideline project; it's a critical initiative with direct impact on our customers' safety and trust. We need an engineer who is ready to take intelligent risks and move with urgency to accelerate this delivery.

This Role will be reporting to the Maverick Engineering Manager.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a pragmatic, execution-focused software engineer with at least 5 years of experience in backend development. You possess a strong bias for action and thrive on tackling complex security challenges in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment. You understand that "good enough" is a starting point for iteration, not a finishing line.

• Security-First Mindset: You are deeply passionate about security engineering, with a proven track record in authentication, security protocols, and application security.

• Java Expertise: You have 5+ years of experience with Java and are an expert in core concepts, including multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.

• Technical Vision & Execution: You can design and implement robust, high-scale solutions from the ground up. You're comfortable setting and driving technical direction under uncertainty to accelerate delivery.

• Radical Ownership: You are a proactive, "get-it-done" individual who can work independently to solve problems and ship value quickly.

• Proven Communicator: You are fluent in English and can clearly articulate complex technical concepts, making your work transparent and understood across the organization.

What We Expect You to Know (The Toolkit)

Non-Negotiables (Must-Haves):

• Deep expertise in Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.

• Solid understanding of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.

• Experience with software architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.

• Strong knowledge of API design and testing practices.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools.

Important Assets (Nice-to-Haves):

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

• Working knowledge of PHP and Shell Scripting.

• Be the First Line of Defense: Participate in the on-call rotation, leveraging your expertise to quickly debug and resolve critical security or performance issues.

• Champion Pragmatic Progress: Promote engineering excellence, favoring intelligent risks, small batches, and fast feedback loops to validate concepts and accelerate delivery.
