Job Description
You. Better. With Alan.
Alan is building a vertically integrated health partner that unites insurance and smart healthcare delivery into one seamless system. Our vision is to make prevention the new norm of care for all.
Our mission: Help people live in good health to 100 while helping employers feel proud, turning health benefits from a cost centre into their most valuable investment.
By connecting all aspects of care (private, public, and direct to consumer) we create the most member-centric healthcare experience, reducing claims costs while generating new monetization opportunities.
We partner with tens of thousands of companies across France 🇫🇷, Spain 🇪🇸, Belgium 🇧🇪, and Canada 🇨🇦, serving over a million members.
How we work: our Leadership Principles
• Mission is the Boss — We think long-term and are methodical optimists who take risks, seeking our mission's success above all else.
• Distributed Ownership — Accountable enlightened despots: everyone owns their decisions and results.
• Radical Transparency — All information is accessible and written-first, so everyone can make the best decisions asynchronously.
• Always Growing — Direct, positive, and caring feedback, combined with self-growth ownership.
👉 About the role
Alan is scaling internationally (700+ employees, 5+ countries) and needs a IT Network & Infrastructure Specialist to own, secure, and automate office infrastructure across all sites. You'll work autonomously within the IT Community, collaborating closely with Workplace, Security, Internal Audit, and Engineering teams.
Location: Paris-based - You'll work from our Valmy office 3+ days per week, with flexibility for remote work on other days.
Scope
🔧 Local Infrastructure
• Own the full office infrastructure stack: networking (WiFi, switching, routing, WAN, IPsec VPN), CCTV, physical access control and audiovisual systems
• Manage provider relationships and coordinate with external partners for deployment, maintenance and upgrades
• Ensure infrastructure scales across all Alan offices
🔒 Infrastructure Security Referent
• Act as the infrastructure security referent for the IT
• Drive pentest remediation and hardening initiatives (network segmentation, access controls, firmware lifecycle, automated infrastructure vulnerability scanning, etc.)
• Own infrastructure security remediations like WPA2-Enterprise migration (RADIUS)
• Support ISO 27001 / HDS technical compliance and audit readiness
⚙️ Infrastructure as Code & Automation
• Codify physical infrastructure configurations for reproducibility, auditability, and multi-site consistency
• Automate compliance checks, drift detection, and routine operational tasks
• If needed, build self-service tooling to reduce manual toil as the company scales
📊 Logging & Monitoring
• Design and implement centralized infrastructure logging (network access, authentication, firewall events, etc.)
• Build monitoring & alerting for multi-site network health
• Integrate infrastructure logs into the security monitoring stack
Milestones
First 2 months
• Acquire technical knowledge on Alan’s infrastructure
• Join IT oncall team covering networking and infrastructure questions
• Participate in audits (e.g., ISO 27001 maintenance)
First 6 months
• Own the Infrastructure & Security workstream (handoff from current owner)
• Drive pentest remediation and infrastructure hardening initiatives
• Deploy centralized logging foundations
• Take up the subject of infrastructure documentation
• Support international expansion (e.g., new offices setup)
First year
• Deliver measurable infrastructure toil reduction
• Achieve infrastructure compliance (EDR, MDM, etc.)
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships (Security, Engineering, Workplace, Audit)

3 years
• Scale infrastructure seamlessly with company growth - no linear manual work increase
• Mentor IT team on infrastructure/security
• Lead major projects end-to-end: office expansions, security architecture, compliance, etc.
👥 Who we’re looking for
For this opportunity, we are aiming to hire within the C0-D level range.

• 0-5 years in network & infrastructure: Solid foundational knowledge of office networking (WiFi, switching, routing, VPN/IPsec) and familiarity with on-premise infrastructure concepts (server rooms, audiovisual systems, physical access control)
• Automation appetite: Scripting basics (Python, Bash) and genuine interest in infrastructure-as-code approaches; understands when to automate vs. manual process
• Structured problem-solving: Can diagnose network issues methodically, asks the right clarifying questions, and thinks about failure modes
• Security awareness: Understanding of infrastructure hardening principles
Must-have - Behavioral / soft skills:
• Ownership & autonomy: Takes responsibilities, drives topics forward without hand-holding, learns from incidents
• Growth mindset: Eager to deepen expertise across networking, automation and security - comfortable ramping up fast on unfamiliar topics
• Cross-team collaboration: Partners effectively with Security, Engineering, and Workplace teams; explains technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with Ubiquiti Unifi and/or Peplink ecosystems
• Multi-site or international office infrastructure exposure
