The Team

Alvarez & Marsal’s Corporate Finance business unit in Madrid is an emerging practice with an entrepreneurial spirit and ambitions for rapid growth. We are currently looking for an Intern to join our team.

You will have the opportunity of working with high international exposure and across the entire transaction life cycle. A&M Corporate Finance has a unique delivery model that enables junior members of the team to gain extensive exposure to Managing Directors and other senior members of the team thus empowering individuals to fast track their careers and development. As an Intern, you will be working closely with the rest of the team and gain ‘on-the-job’ learning and development, leveraging on their substantial experience.

How you will contribute

Working with the other members of the team, the intern will be involved in the following tasks:

Participating in the execution and success of our mandates

Contributing to strategic recommendations and insights

Collecting and analysing strategic data using internal tools (e.g. CapitalIQ, MergerMarket, Gartner)

Assisting in the production of pitches, deliverables, marketing and commercial documents

Supporting prospection and negotiation meetings

Updating and monitoring CRM systems and databases

Conducting strategic market studies (benchmarking and sector/company analyses)

Researching potential targets and preparing outreach approaches (identifying key people, strategies, etc.)

Qualificatons

Studying at a leading Universities, Business Schools and / or Engineering, or equivalent;

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Ability to prioritise – especially in highly pressured situations;

Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills;

Fluent business level English and Spanish is essential. Additional European language skills including German, Italian or French are desirable;

Final-year student with a strong interest in a career within M&A and Finance.
