🚀 Join Sector Alarm as an Infrastructure Manager
Overview
The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for leading and managing Sector Alarm’s enterprise infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. This role combines strong hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure services that support business-critical applications.
The role will define infrastructure standards, oversee daily operations, lead cloud transformation initiatives, and manage a team of infrastructure professionals in a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Strategy & Leadership
•
Lead the implementation and ongoing management of Azure-based infrastructure, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
•
Oversee multi-cloud environments, with Azure as the primary platform and additional cloud providers as needed.
•
Define and maintain infrastructure architecture, standards, policies, and operational procedures.
•
Provide hands-on technical leadership for complex infrastructure initiatives and escalations.
Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure
•
Manage and integrate on-premises infrastructure with cloud services in a hybrid model.
•
Lead cloud migration and modernization programmes, including workload assessment, planning, and execution.
•
Ensure infrastructure services are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with operational needs.
Security, Governance & Resilience
•
Implement and manage security, identity, governance, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities across cloud and on-premises platforms.
•
Ensure infrastructure services align with governance, compliance, and change management frameworks.
•
Partner closely with cybersecurity, application, and network teams to support secure and reliable service delivery.
Automation & Operational Excellence
•
Drive automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) adoption to improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
•
Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
•
Support continuous improvement across infrastructure operations and service management.
Team Leadership & Vendor Management
•
Lead, mentor, and develop infrastructure engineering and operations team members.
•
Balance hands-on technical guidance with people leadership and operational oversight.
•
Manage vendor relationships, licensing, contracts, and service-level agreements.
•
Support infrastructure budgeting, cost optimisation, and financial planning activities.
Required Skills & Experience
•
Proven experience leading and managing enterprise infrastructure environments in a complex organisation.
•
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
•
Experience managing multi-cloud environments, including Azure and other platforms such as AWS and/or GCP.
•
Solid background in enterprise on-premises infrastructure, including virtualisation, servers, storage, and data centre technologies.
•
Strong expertise in hybrid cloud architectures and connectivity.
•
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
•
Strong understanding of identity and access management, especially Azure AD / Entra ID (Or similars)
•
Good knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and routing.
•
Experience with monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery solutions in enterprise environments.
•
Familiarity with DevOps principles and automation.
•
Proven experience leading and developing technical teams.
•
Ability to balance hands-on technical work with people and operational management.
•
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•
Experience working within governance, compliance, and change management frameworks.
•
Fluency in English.
•
Valid work permit within the EU.
Qualifications
•
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
•
Relevant technical certifications are strongly preferred, although equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
