Infrastructure Engineer (On-Prem)

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer (On-Prem) to join our team in Chennai, India. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our on-premises infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of our IT systems.

• Design and implement on-premises infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements
• Manage and maintain server hardware, networking equipment, and storage systems
• Implement and support virtualisation technologies to optimise resource utilisation
• Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error
• Monitor system performance and conduct regular health checks
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement appropriate solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in managing on-premises infrastructure
• Proven expertise in server hardware, networking equipment, and storage systems
• Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
• Solid understanding of network protocols and security principles
• Experience with monitoring and performance tuning tools
• Familiarity with IT service management practices and frameworks
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, VMware VCP) are desirable
• Experience in data centre operations is a plus
