The Implementation Engineer – Payments is responsible for the technical delivery, configuration, and operational enablement of payment processing systems. This role blends implementation engineering and DevOps responsibilities, supporting the deployment, integration, automation, and stabilization of payment platforms across authorization, clearing, settlement, and reporting environments.
The Implementation Engineer works closely with product, development, network partners, vendors, and clients to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant payments solutions. This position also supports production environments and participates in incident resolution, release management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

How You 'll Make an Impact
• Lead technical implementations of payment processing solutions, including authorization, clearing, settlement, and reporting systems
• Configure and deploy payment platforms across development, test, and production environments
• Integrate payment systems with external networks, issuers, acquirers, and third‑party service providers
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and deployment pipelines using scripting and DevOps tooling
• Support CI/CD practices, environment promotion, and release coordination
• Perform configuration management, version control, and infrastructure standardization
• Provide advanced operational and production support for payment systems, including incident troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability; proactively identify risks and improvements
• Collaborate with development, QA, security, and compliance teams during delivery and release cycles
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and implementation guides
• Perform other related duties as assigned
What Makes You a Great Fit
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
• 1+ years experience implementing or supporting payments or financial transaction systems
• Strong understanding of payment message flows (e.g., ISO 8583 or equivalent)
• 1+ year experience with SQL for querying, troubleshooting, and data validation
• 1+ year experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages
• Experience with DevOps or release engineering practices
• Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows server environments
• Experience supporting production systems with high availability requirements
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
What Will Help You Thrive
• Experience with card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or regional payment switches
• Familiarity with payments clearing, settlement, and reconciliation processes
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
• Exposure to containerization or orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in SaaS or multi‑tenant payments environments
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, SOC, or regulatory compliance requirements
• Prior experience working with banks, processors, or fintechs
