Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a HIP Developer Experience Lead for Internal Cloud to enhance the developer and internal customer experience across strategic hosting platforms. This role will focus on improving journey-to-live processes across internal cloud, Kubernetes, and event streaming platforms, reducing complexity, and enabling more customer-centric, scalable, and efficient technology solutions.

The successful candidate will combine strong development and infrastructure expertise with a developer-first mindset to drive automation, streamline integration paths, and foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.

What you will do:

• Review existing HIP platforms to identify opportunities to improve customer and developer journeys.
• Assess external platforms across domains to identify enhancement opportunities and implement improvements within HIP.
• Engage lead developers to understand pain points and implement infrastructure and tooling improvements.
• Facilitate two-way communication between platform creators and consumers, producing clear technical materials and documentation.
• Design and maintain tools, platforms, and processes that enable efficient software build and deployment.
• Implement automation and infrastructure as code to simplify route-to-live processes.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment consistency and speed.
• Provide self-service infrastructure capabilities for development teams.
• Partner with engineering teams to remove blockers and improve workflows.
• Drive collaboration across federated domains underpinning internal cloud across CTO, business lines, and vendors.
• Provide technical guidance and support to customers while promoting deployment standards.
• Promote and embed a developer-centric culture across the HIP platform.
• Support globally distributed infrastructure across multiple regions and environments.

• Strong background in software development with hands-on engineering experience.
• Blend of infrastructure engineering capability and developer-centric mindset.
• Experience working within Agile environments delivering software solutions.
• Working knowledge of internal cloud platforms, Kubernetes platforms, hybrid integration platforms, and software-defined compute, storage, and networking.
• Understanding of public cloud offerings with experience building applications in cloud environments.
• Experience implementing enterprise-grade solutions for globally dispersed infrastructure.
• Knowledge of middleware disciplines including web servers, application servers, messaging, and application lifecycle management.
• Experience managing or leading teams or programmes of work is highly beneficial.
• Ability to interface effectively with senior stakeholders and influence tooling and platform decisions.
• Experience working across cultures within globally distributed teams.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and dynamically changing environments.
• Strong leadership, articulation, networking, influencing, and execution capabilities.
