Your mission
The Test Engineering Department within Thales Belgium is responsible for the creation of test solutions, communication systems and associated equipment to meet customer requirements (internal or external).
As Head of Test Engineering, you will be the link between the hardware department and the production and you will define the test strategy, from development to production.
Your Responsibilities
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of test engineers test engineering team to validate the performance and reliability of complex electronic systems during from product development to production and test bench for repair activities
• Drive the transformation of the department to accompany the new business areas related development of new businesses linked to customer after sales support / services
• Prioritize resources within the test department across multiple programs
• Analyze test results as the final authority on the thoroughness and completeness of testing;
• Evaluate trade-offs between testing and analysis
• Develop test methodology and documentation standards
• Day to day management of the test engineering department
• Plan and prioritize staffing levels Planning & prioritizing the workforce and estimate costs
• Define test strategy in the face of funding, time and other resource limitations and in accordance with different business objectives
• Model appraisal risk cost and impact risk cost
• Contribute to the bids
• Propose strategy to minimize tests by increasing automation and optimising test from sub-system to system level
• Propose strategy to reuse/capitalize tests between different programs/products/systems
We are looking forward to
• Bachelor degree in the electronics field
• 3 to 5 years of experience in circuit board design and/or system product validation experience
• Knowledge of Labwindows is necessary required
• Experience leading with managing teams within a multidisciplinary engineering technical environment is a strong asset
• Ability to quickly understand the design intent and operational requirements of complex systems or subsystems, and develop a plan to test performance and reliability
• You can look beyond the written requirements, and understand the more nuanced possible failure modes
• Experienced in developing Have experience designing test fixtures, and carrying out product validation through total completion.
• Familiar with modern testing methodologies and analysis tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage lead and mentor a team of engineers and foster cross-departmental collaboration and alignment
• You take initiative and are open to innovative approaches
