Casap is looking for a Director of Engineering in San Francisco excited to supercharge how banks operate with a rapidly scaling product at the forefront of automation and Artificial Intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the team: Scale engineering teams (10+ engineers) by hiring exceptional ICs and future leaders

• Own technical strategy: Shape architecture decisions and ensure our systems scale in complexity and with security in sight

• Create engineering culture: Build a culture of ownership, accountability, curiosity, and customer empathy

• Drive consistent delivery: Establish engineering processes, performance frameworks, and mentor senior engineers to foster technical excellence

• Mentor and coach: Support early-career engineers and senior ICs through coaching, feedback, and development

• Partner cross-functionally: Work closely with product, design, and operations to deliver comprehensive solutions and drive operational excellence across the platform

Qualifications

• Proven track record of recruiting top-tier, senior-level engineers in San Francisco

• 10+ years software development experience, preferably with 5+ years focused on using Go or Java in production so that you can dive into technical details and guide system design discussions

• 5+ years engineering management

• Led multiple end-to-end implementations of critical features or complete platform re-architectures at scale

• Expert understanding of distributed systems, web technologies, databases, and modern development frameworks

• Strong experience mentoring technical leaders and building high-performing engineering cultures

• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence technical decisions across the organization
