Forward Deployed Engineer (AI/Agents)

About the Role

We are hiring an AI Engineer to build production grade AI systems with a strong emphasis on agent architectures, LLM powered applications, and scalable API driven integrations. This role blends deep technical rigor with client facing collaboration.

You will design intelligent agents, deploy robust AI services, and work directly with internal stakeholders and external clients to translate business problems into scalable AI solutions.

This is a hands on builder role with real ownership and visibility.

A Day in the Life

AI and Agent Systems

• Design and implement AI agents capable of reasoning, planning, and tool use
• Build multi step agent workflows with memory and state management
• Develop production ready RAG systems with optimized retrieval and context handling
• Fine tune and evaluate LLMs for domain specific use cases
• Implement guardrails, validation layers, and structured output controls
• Design evaluation frameworks for reliability, hallucination mitigation, and safety

Backend and Platform Engineering

• Build scalable REST APIs to expose AI capabilities
• Integrate AI agents with enterprise tools and third party systems
• Design microservices and asynchronous systems for high throughput workloads
• Optimize inference latency, reliability, and cloud cost
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for AI services

Consulting and Client Engagement

• Work directly with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into AI solutions
• Lead technical discovery sessions and solution workshops
• Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders
• Provide architectural recommendations and implementation roadmaps
• Support pilots, proofs of concept, and production rollouts

What You Need

AI and LLM Systems

• Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning
• Deep understanding of transformers and modern LLM architectures
• Hands on experience building agent based systems with tool calling and orchestration
• Experience with embeddings, vector search, and retrieval systems
• Proficiency in PyTorch or similar ML frameworks

Engineering Fundamentals

• Strong data structures and algorithms fundamentals
• Solid system design and distributed systems knowledge
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience designing scalable APIs and backend systems
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP

Consulting and Soft Skills

• Strong problem solving and structured thinking
• Ability to balance technical depth with business impact
• Clear and confident communication skills
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment
• High ownership mindset and bias for execution
• Comfort working in fast paced and ambiguous environments

Nice to Have

• Experience in healthcare or regulated industries
• Experience working in a consulting or client delivery environment
• Experience leading small technical workstreams or mentoring junior engineers
