Description

As an Field Application Engineer, in Developer Experience team, your mission is to remove friction for developers using Toradex solutions. You’ll support developers, create technical documentation, demos, reproducible references, and automation that let customers go from prototype to production faster. You will drive our efforts to have the best technical support experience in the industry, including assisting customers through our AI-powered developer community. You’ll work closely with R&D, Product and Marketing and be the voice of developers inside Toradex.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include the items below:

• Provide technical support and guidance to developers integrating Toradex System on Modules (SoMs) into their products.

• Create and maintain technical documentation and articles to ensure developers can easily solve issues and implement solutions independently.

• Contribute to building the leading self-service support experience in the embedded computing industry through high-quality documentation, community interaction, AI-assisted support, and automation.

• Help translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable guidance for developers and engineers using Toradex hardware and software.

• Serve as a key stakeholder in the overall user experience of Toradex products — providing feedback to internal engineering teams based on customer challenges and use cases.

• Interact directly with customers through email, the Toradex Community Forum, and other support channels, helping resolve technical issues efficiently.

• Identify recurring customer pain points and proactively update documentation or examples to reduce future support load.

• Help promote and demonstrate Toradex solutions through webinars, blogs, and developer-focused technical content.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

• Availability to work from the Toradex Office in Campinas/SP at least 4 days a week.

• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple support cases and documentation tasks simultaneously.

• Ability and passion to learn new technologies related to embedded software, hardware, and system integration.

• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team (engineering, marketing, support).

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze hardware/software integration issues.

• Linux experience:

• Proficient as a user or system administrator.

• Experience with Embedded Linux development and configuration.

• Experience developing or debugging applications for Embedded Linux devices.

• Knowledge of hardware interfaces and how to use them on the software side, such as:

• GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, MIPI-CSI, LVDS, and others.

• Experience with Git (collaborating in multi-contributor repositories).

• Ability to read and understand hardware schematics.

• Knowledge of software design patterns and anti-patterns.

• Proficient in C/C++ and Python programming languages.

• Familiar with at least one shell scripting language (e.g. Bash).

• Strong proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing technical support to customers in a hardware/software company.

• Previous experience in developer enablement, documentation, or customer-facing technical roles.

• Hands-on experience with Yocto, Docker, and Driver integration.

• Understanding of Agile development practices.

• Exposure to AI/ML on embedded devices or related technologies.

• Designed or debugged a PCB or embedded system professionally or as a hobby.

• Enthusiasm for communicating technical topics in webinars, blog posts, and developer talks.
