The Finance Accounting & Controlling team sits at the heart of SumUp's financial operations, ensuring that every transaction, balance, and ledger entry across our growing portfolio of financial products is accurate, compliant, and built to scale. As SumUp expands into banking and lending, the demand on our accounting infrastructure has never been greater, and this role exists to meet that challenge head-on. As Global Process Owner for Financial Products, you'll own the end-to-end accounting workflows that underpin millions of transactions, working at the intersection of finance, technology, and product to build the systems and processes that make SumUp's next phase of growth possible.
What you'll do
• Own the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting workflows for financial products, including transaction processing, e-money, and lending
• Identify bottlenecks, manual processes, and reconciliation gaps, then lead the implementation of automation solutions including SAP integrations, scripting, and AI-enabled tools
• Translate business and reporting needs into clear, prioritised requirements for ERP and Engineering teams, and coordinate delivery through sprint planning, backlog management, and testing cycles
• Act as the primary point of contact across ERP, Engineering, Product, PayOps, Treasury, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure accounting flows are accurately integrated across all systems
• Build and maintain reconciliation frameworks and a Notion knowledge base that keeps the team aligned, audit-ready, and equipped to onboard new financial products efficiently
You'll be great for this role if…
• Advanced proficiency in SAP financial modules, including SAP S/4HANA and SAP FICO, with hands-on experience in ERP implementations
• Strong knowledge of financial products accounting, including transaction processing, e-money, or lending, and familiarity with IFRS, GAAP, and internal control frameworks.
• Experience translating complex business requirements into structured technical specifications for engineering or ERP delivery teams
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with confidence, influencing stakeholders across finance, product, and technology without direct line authority
• A Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, ideally combined with experience in financial services, banking, or FinTech
