Experienced Pet Care Technician (with strong potential to become a Lead Pet Care Technician) 30-35 + hours per week.
Do you love animals and want to build a real career in pet care? We’re looking for an Experienced Pet Care Technician with strong potential to grow into a Lead Pet Care Technician.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves hands-on animal care, works well with people, and is ready to grow into a leadership position. This role is ideal for someone ready to grow into a Lead position and build a long-term career in pet care. In this role, you’ll help care for dogs, cats, and other family pets while supporting the team on your shift and helping ensure excellent care for every animal while they are with us.
Job Summary
As an Experienced Pet Care Technician/Lead-in-Training, you will provide daily care for pets while helping guide and support other Pet Care Technicians on your shift. You’ll help make sure pets are safe, comfortable, well cared for, and that daily tasks are completed in an organized and timely way.
Responsibilities
Care for dogs, cats, and other family pets while they are with us
Administer medications as directed
Prepare and serve food according to customer instructions
Monitor pets for health, comfort, and behavior concerns
Help keep the team organized, focused, and on task during the shift
Communicate with customers about their pets and share updates
Report health or behavior concerns to leadership promptly
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in pet care, boarding, or a similar role
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Experience administering medications to dogs and cats, including pills, injections, and fluids
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Knowledge of animal first aid strongly preferred
Degree in an animal-related field is a plus, but not required (past on-the-job training is highly valued)
Able to work a variety of shifts and hours
Able to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, lifting, bending, cleaning, and handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
A strong desire to build a career in the pet care and boarding industry
