Engineering Manager

We’re looking for a strong, hands-on engineer to join Sisense as the Engineering Manager of our Fabric team. The team is responsible for developing the foundational services and communication infrastructure that connect our platform.

This role is ideal for an experienced backend/full-stack developer ready to take their next step into a leadership position. You’ll guide a small, talented team, driving the design and delivery of critical backend components that ensure performance, scalability, and reliability across our SaaS platform.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, helping to shape the technical direction of core systems and bringing best practices in distributed service design, observability, and orchestration.

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Guide and mentor a small team of full-stack engineers, fostering growth, ownership, and collaboration.

• Promote high engineering standards and a culture of accountability.

• Support delivery processes and agile practices (experience as Scrum Master or team focal point is an advantage).

Technical Ownership

• Design and build the core services that power the Sisense Fabric inter-service communication, event-driven workflows, and messaging systems.

• Own and maintain key platform components leveraging Node.js, K8s, AWS components, MongoDB (Atlas), and RabbitMQ.

• Drive system architecture and technical design decisions for scalability and reliability.

• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and DevOps to deliver new features and improvements.

• Ensure observability, monitoring, and operational excellence across all services.

What You’ve Done So Far

• 5+ years of backend or full-stack development experience in Node.js.

• Experience working with Kubernetes, AWS, MongoDB, and RabbitMQ in production environments (RabbitMQ is a must).

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and SaaS multi-tenant architectures.

• Experience taking ownership of complex services or features end-to-end.

• Advantage: Previous experience mentoring engineers, serving as a team focal point, or acting as a Scrum Master.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
