Job Description
Welcome to the future of cloud networking and security!
Cato Networks is the first company to converge enterprise networking and security into one centralized and global service that is delivered by cloud. It is led by networking and security pioneer Shlomo Kramer (Check Point, Imperva) and early investor (Palo Alto Networks, Exabeam, Trusteer and more). Cato’s unique technology inspired a brand-new product category, later named “SASE” by Gartner and a market expected to reach $28.5 billion by 2028.
This is your opportunity to get on the rocket ship and join a company that is building a cutting-edge enterprise network and secure cloud platform, and is on a fast track to becoming the worldwide market leader – don’t miss it!
About the Role
As an Enablement Lab Engineer at Cato Networks, you will design, build, and scale a cloud-based lab platform that powers hands-on learning and product enablement.
You will architect browser-accessible, on-demand lab environments that allow users to spin up complete networking and cybersecurity scenarios with the click of a button. This role sits at the intersection of cloud automation, networking, SaaS integration, and platform engineering—transforming complex infrastructure into a seamless, self-service experience.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, data engineers, sales engineers, and enablement teams to deliver a scalable and reliable lab environment used by customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
•
Architect and build a scalable, browser-accessible lab platform for on-demand environments
•
Develop backend orchestration systems to enable provisioning, reset, and lifecycle management of lab environments
•
Design and automate cloud infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
•
Build reusable infrastructure modules for virtual machines, networking, and access control
•
Configure networking and security components including VPNs, firewalls, routing policies, and virtual networks
•
Integrate lab environments with SaaS platforms via APIs to provision tenants, configure policies, and enable features
•
Implement validation, monitoring, and logging to ensure reliability and performance of lab environments
•
Troubleshoot networking and system-level issues (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, NAT, etc.)
•
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and continuously improve the lab platform
•
Optimize scalability, performance, and user experience across a multi-tenant environment
Requirements
•
10+ years of experience in networking or security engineering
•
5+ years of experience in cloud, networking, or automation engineering
•
Experience building demo, training, or enablement lab environments
•
Strong programming skills in Python
•
Experience with backend development (Python, Go, Node.js, or similar)
•
Hands-on experience with Azure (AWS is a plus)
•
Deep experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
•
Strong knowledge of Linux environments and networking tools (tcpdump, curl, netstat, etc.)
•
Experience with PowerShell scripting for Windows automation
•
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, routing)
•
Experience building automated provisioning pipelines and integrating REST APIs
Preferred Qualifications
•
Networking or security certifications (e.g., CCNA)
•
Experience with browser-based remote access tools (e.g., Apache Guacamole)
•
Familiarity with GraphQL APIs
•
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
•
Background in cybersecurity platforms or secure network architectures
•
Experience building internal platforms or developer enablement tools
Why This Role Matters
In this role, you won’t just manage infrastructure—you will build a core enablement product that powers how customers, partners, and internal teams experience Cato’s platform.
Your work will directly impact how effectively the field communicates technical value through real-world, hands-on scenarios, helping accelerate adoption and deepen product understanding across the ecosystem.
Cato provides a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits plan. Benefits for this role include health/vision/dental insurance, 401(k), stock options, Health Savings/Flexible Spending Accounts, flexible time-off, paid parental leave and disability benefits.
