About the role

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring our software is delivered securely, reliably, and efficiently. You streamline processes, implement best practices, and support scalable, high-performing systems across the organization, working closely with a collaborative, global team to drive continuous improvement in software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, with an emphasis on integrating security measures and automated testing.
• Enhance the scalability and reliability of containerized environments, leveraging your growing expertise in Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and refine programming/scripting skills in languages such as PowerShell and Bash, applying automation to streamline operations.
• Utilize IaC tools like Terraform with a focus on best practices and security considerations.
• Take a proactive role in ensuring the operational stability of software in production, including developing monitoring solutions and refining alerting mechanisms.
• Enhance documentation, project specifications, and business cases with clear, concise communication.
• Liaise with global stakeholders and build strong relationships with other cloud infrastructure and DevOps teams in Australia and the UK.

Requirements:
• 5+ years of progressive experience in DevSecOps or a related field.

• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or similar.
• Experience automating infrastructure provisioning in a public cloud, using tools like Terraform.
• Proven ability in building and optimizing CI/CD workflows, preferably with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Extensive experience in engaging developers and product teams in the planning and execution of projects.
• Proven track record in building strong relationships with developers, development managers, and tech leads.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, API Gateways (e.g., Kong), and networking/routing technologies (e.g., Istio, VPCs).
• Demonstrated ability to maintain and scale containerized applications, with an interest in learning and applying new technologies.
• Strong background in AWS or similar cloud environments, with a clear understanding of best practices and security protocols.
• Experience in CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus.
• Expertise in monitoring, logging, and observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, Elastic, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Expertise in source code management using GitHub.
• Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language, with a desire to expand those skills.
• Great documentation skills to ensure all internal resources can effectively utilize our internal systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Ability to provide the right tools and insights to support a team of engineers making the right decisions.
• Ability to foster a strong infrastructure-as-code mentality on our platform.
• Experience with security tooling, penetration testing, and remediation strategies to ensure our platform always follows the best security protocols.
• Effective problem-solving skills, especially in diagnosing and resolving issues in complex environments.

Compensation

The anticipated starting base pay range for this role is listed below. Base salary is not the only component of our competitive total rewards package - you may also be eligible for bonus, commissions and other benefits as described below. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications.

$110,000 - $175,000 base pay
