We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to take ownership of managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-grade database environments. This role is critical to ensuring the performance, security, availability, and reliability of databases that support business-critical applications. The ideal professional will bring strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL and MongoDB, along with a proactive mindset toward automation, performance tuning, and risk mitigation. You will work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless data operations and scalability.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases across development, staging, and production environments
• Monitor database performance, availability, and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact applications
• Design, implement, and maintain robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning to support growing workloads
• Troubleshoot complex database issues related to performance, replication, indexing, and data consistency
• Manage database security by implementing access controls, user roles, auditing, and compliance with organizational standards
• Automate routine database administration tasks using scripts and automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities with minimal downtime
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application deployments and data requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, processes, and best practices
What Makes You a Great Fit
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise or large-scale environments
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including installation, configuration, and ongoing administration
• Proven experience with database performance tuning, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting techniques
• Solid understanding of backup strategies, recovery processes, and disaster recovery planning
• Experience implementing database security measures, access control policies, and audit mechanisms
• Familiarity with automation tools, scripting, and process optimization for database operations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex production issues
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Clear communication skills to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
