As our Commis Chef, you will:

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of a range of traditional and contemporary Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, and more.
• Work closely with the Japanese culinary team to uphold the principles of Japanese cooking, such as precision, seasonality, and respect for ingredients.
• Learn and master the art of Japanese knife skills, flavor combinations, and plating techniques under the guidance of experienced Japanese chefs.
• Ensure the authenticity and quality of Japanese dishes, while infusing your own creativity and passion for Japanese cuisine into every creation.
• Embrace the spirit of omotenashi (hospitality) and deliver exceptional dining experiences that transport guests to the heart of Japan.

 

• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Japanese cuisine, with a focus on traditional Japanese cooking methods and dishes.
• Proficiency in preparing and cooking a variety of Japanese dishes, with knowledge of Japanese ingredients, seasonings, and culinary traditions.
• Strong attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to excellence in Japanese culinary techniques.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
