Cloud Engineer

Essential Job Duties

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate is passionate about cloud technologies, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of various areas of specialization, principles, and practices within Cloud implementation. A Cloud Engineer addresses system incidents and issues using a wide variety of tools and techniques to determine the root cause and make Cloud implementation more resilient and stable. A Cloud Engineer may be involved in a wide range of projects that require clarity of thought, building on experience, and working with a team.

You will:

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions to support the company's applications and services.

• Collaborate with software developers and administrators to ensure seamless integration of cloud services into existing infrastructure.

• Implement and maintain cloud security measures, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring, to protect sensitive data and comply with industry regulations.

• Optimize cloud infrastructure performance and cost-effectiveness through continuous monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.

• Automate repetitive tasks and streamline deployment processes using configuration management tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum uptime for critical services.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on the company's infrastructure strategy.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

• AI Proficiency

• Demonstrated use of utilizing AI tools in daily work activities to accelerate tasks, documents, summaries, and other manual steps.

• Demonstrated ability to understand AI-based systems and support other teams developing these tools.

• Demonstrated ability to implement systems or sub-systems that use AI to simplify or accelerate cloud infrastructure management.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 2-4 years of experience in Linux administration, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or related disciplines.

• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, etc.

• Strong knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in cloud environments.

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
