Job Summary: The Cloud Engineer I supports the planning, operation, and monitoring of cloud-based solutions that contribute to the organization’s IT infrastructure and business objectives. This role assists in ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency of cloud environments while gaining experience in implementing best practices for performance, cost optimization, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Support and Management:

• Support the deployment, configuration, and basic management of cloud infrastructure under the guidance of senior team members.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of cloud resources, configurations, and processes.

Collaboration and Strategy:

• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to contribute to cloud initiatives and projects.

• Assist in monitoring and applying security protocols in line with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

Monitoring and Optimization:

• Track and report on cloud resource usage and performance metrics, identifying potential issues for escalation.

• Provide first-level support in troubleshooting cloud-related issues and escalate complex problems as needed.

Automation and Continuous Improvement:

• Learn and apply basic automation tools and scripts to support cloud provisioning and routine tasks.

• Stay up to date on cloud computing trends and emerging technologies to build foundational expertise.

Job Requirements.

Academic Background & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Preferred: Entry-level certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer).

Required Qualifications: Experience:

• 1 – 2 years of experience in IT, cloud support, or a related technical role.

• Experience in a collaborative or remote work environment (preferred).

Technical Background (IT Languages, Tools, Methodologies):

• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Basic understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) - Foundational scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell preferred).

• Awareness of containerization concepts (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (preferred).

• Understanding of basic networking and cloud security principles.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and follow established processes.

• Previous experience in a remote work environment.
