You’re not drawing diagrams for PowerPoint — you’re accountable for platforms running in production , this role sits between engineering, operations, and leadership and is expected to make hard technical decisions, defend them, and execute.
Key Responsibilities :
Architecture & Design
Design private, public, or hybrid cloud platforms (VMware, CloudStack, OpenStack, Kubernetes-based).
Define reference architectures for compute, storage, networking, and security.
Own multi-AZ, HA, and DR designs — no single points of failure.
Standardize platform components.
Infrastructure & Platforms
• Architect and optimize:
Virtualization (VMware, KVM, CloudStack)
Containers (Kubernetes, OpenShift, managed or self-hosted)
Storage (SAN, object, distributed storage like Ceph, Pure, PowerStore)
Networking (L2/L3, BGP, EVPN, SDN, load balancing)
Drive performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Automation & IaC
Enforce Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, Helm).
Define Git-based workflows (GitOps where applicable).
Eliminate manual provisioning wherever possible.
Security & Governance

Logging (ELK, Loki)
Alerting that doesn’t spam

Support incident reviews and root-cause analysis — no blame, only fixes.
