We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst with a strong interest in financial markets to join our Sovereign Research team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with databases, analysing macroeconomic data, developing insights into market dynamics and writing reports,
Responsibilities
Working in Microsoft Excel and other data packages to maintain databases, analyze and draw conclusions from shifts in macroeconomic and market data.
Produce quantitative analysis and research on the sovereigns under coverage, providing an assessment of hard currency and local currency sovereign bonds.
The ability to assess various economic drivers such as government policy, geopolitical and local political factors affecting sovereign creditworthiness.
Work with data teams to ensure consistent and comprehensive market views.
Support proprietary news and analysis teams to produce actionable reports on emerging sovereign credit situations under coverage.
Publish research reports covering historical and forward-looking data related to sovereigns under coverage.
Requirements
Fluency in English (mandatory). The candidate will be required to participate in team meetings and write research reports entirely in English.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, or a related field.
Experience from internships and work in macroeconomic research, financial markets, or investment analysis is a plus.
Strong understanding of monetary policy, fiscal dynamics, and debt markets.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid grasp of economic data.
Proficiency in Excel.
Knowledge of the global fixed income and currency markets.
An understanding of credit ratings and rating methodologies is a plus.
Knowledge of Arabic, French, Russian or Turkish is a plus.
A demonstrated interest in emerging market fixed income.
