We are continuing our mission by building new, superior applications in emerging use cases as applications become increasingly integrated with AI.
Our team is densely talented, highly motivated, and focused on engineering and product excellence within a very flat organization. All members are expected to be hands-on and to contribute directly to the company’s mission.
Role Overview
As Business & Product Development Manager – UK, you will act as BJAK’s on-the-ground leader for both business and product initiatives, responsible for building strategic insurer partnerships, driving product growth, and executing commercial strategies that deliver measurable revenue impact.
You will work closely with the Country Manager and senior leadership, shaping BJAK’s UK growth strategy while owning end-to-end execution across partnerships, revenue, product, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Acquisition & Activation
• Identify, prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close strategic insurer and ecosystem partnerships within aggressive timelines.
• Own the full partnership lifecycle — from initial outreach and relationship building through negotiation, onboarding, integration, and go-live.
• Drive fast-market-entry partnerships and minimize activation timelines through proactive stakeholder alignment.
Pipeline Ownership & Execution
• Build, own, and manage a robust and visible pipeline of insurer and strategic partners in the UK market.
• Maintain disciplined follow-ups, accurate CRM hygiene, and clear reporting to ensure consistent deal progression and closures.
• Operate with urgency — no stalled deals, no loose ends.
Commercial Negotiation & Deal Closure
• Lead commercial negotiations with strong judgment on pricing, underwriting alignment, and partnership economics.
• Collaborate closely with legal, product, technology, operations, and compliance teams to finalize agreements and accelerate execution.
• Align internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding and timely go-lives.
Revenue & Product Delivery
• Own monthly revenue, policy, activation, and product adoption targets.
• Drive partner productivity, volume growth, and KPI performance post go-live.
• Identify cross-sell, upsell, and product optimization opportunities to convert partnerships into scalable revenue streams.
Strategic Leadership & Market Advisory
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the Country Manager on UK market dynamics, insurer behavior, regulatory considerations, and growth opportunities.
• Represent BJAK in meetings, calls, and communications with partners, regulators, and stakeholders as required.
• Facilitate fast decision-making and execution across internal teams and external partners.
Operational Excellence & Governance
• Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve partner or execution issues while maintaining high standards of service and delivery.
• Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and operational improvements alongside senior leadership.
• Support resource and capacity planning, including input on staffing and operational priorities aligned with business growth.
• Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and UK regulatory requirements.
• Communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately across all stakeholders.
Requirements
• Highly self-driven, proactive, and accountable. Initiative is expected, not instruction.
• Permanent residency in the UK and deep understanding of local insurance market dynamics and regulations.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance and/or fintech, with strong commercial, product, and negotiation capability.
• Proven understanding of insurer economics, underwriting considerations, partnership structures, and product strategy.
• Established network within the UK insurance ecosystem, enabling immediate access to senior-level stakeholders.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Why Join BJAK
• Play a defining role in BJAK’s UK market expansion
• Work directly with senior leadership on strategy and execution
• Join a hyper-growth insurtech valued at over US$2B
• Build insurer partnerships and products that impact millions of users
• Competitive, performance-driven compensation with strong upside
Compensation Range
We offer a highly competitive package, ranging from £80,000 to £110,000, reflecting both experience and suitability for this pivotal role.
