Securiport provides comprehensive immigration processing and analytics solutions that support global border security operations. Services include technical analysis, system design, software development, implementation, training, and ongoing technical support for field operations.
The Biometrics Software Engineer will report to the Software Development Manager and will be part of a collaborative team of senior software engineers, DevOps engineers, QA engineers, and business analysts. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining biometric software solutions that support identity verification, biometric capture, matching, and integration with immigration and border management systems.
This is a hands-on technical role, and candidates should be prepared to demonstrate relevant experience and technical expertise.
Essential Functions
Design, develop, and maintain biometric software applications and services across web and Windows platforms.
Implement biometric processing solutions including fingerprint, facial recognition, and other identity technologies.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and distributed systems supporting biometric data processing and integration.
Integrate biometric hardware devices such as scanners, cameras, and capture systems.
Ensure high levels of security, scalability, and performance in biometric solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support global immigration and border security operations.
Implement automated testing and maintain high code quality standards.
Use GitHub and DevOps tools to support CI/CD workflows.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong experience in C# and .NET development.
Experience working with biometric technologies (fingerprint, facial recognition, iris, or multimodal systems).
Experience developing secure, high-performance applications for Windows platforms.
Demonstrated experience with SQL Server and relational database design.
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, gRPC services, and microservices architectures.
Experience integrating biometric hardware devices and SDKs.
Knowledge of data security, encryption, and identity management principles.
Familiarity with GitHub version control and unit testing frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications (Plus)
Experience with asynchronous and distributed systems development.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working on immigration, border security, or identity management systems.
Experience developing hardware drivers or low-level device integrations.
Knowledge of biometric standards (e.g., ISO/ANSI, NIST, ICAO).
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 7 years of relevant software engineering experience.
Physical Job Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) for extended periods.
Ability to work continuously at a computer workstation and view monitors for extended periods.
Travel Requirements
This position may require international travel to support global deployments.
