Job Purpose
This role supports KE’s Automation and Electrical teams by executing commissioning, system validation, and industrial networking activities across a variety of complex projects.
You’ll be responsible for commissioning control systems, validating field devices, and supporting PLC and network integration that directly impacts system performance, startup readiness, and overall project success. Success in this role means delivering accurate, reliable systems with minimal rework while maintaining clear documentation and strong coordination with project teams—all while upholding KE’s commitment to Safety, People, Passion, and Performance.

What You’ll Do
You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
• Perform I/O checkout, loop verification, and point-to-point wiring validation for field devices and control systems
• Assist with control panel checkout and support commissioning and startup activities onsite
• Troubleshoot and resolve control system, device, and industrial network issues during commissioning
• Support basic PLC configuration and startup using platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens
• Configure and integrate automation devices including VFDs, motor starters, remote I/O, and control panels
• Install, configure, and test network-connected devices and industrial communication systems (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP)
• Support IP addressing, network setup, and communication path verification
• Work with Ethernet switches, fiber optic systems, and structured cabling infrastructure
• Configure and commission IO-Link devices, masters, and gateways per project requirements
• Document commissioning activities including test results, deficiencies, and system configurations
• Communicate progress and coordinate closely with engineers, project managers, electricians, and contractors
• Ensure all work meets safety standards, project specifications, and quality expectations
 
What You Bring
You’re someone who shows up ready to work hard, learn fast, and contribute to a team that takes pride in doing things right. Successful candidates typically bring:
• 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or electrical systems
• Strong understanding of control systems, field instrumentation, and electrical fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with I/O checkout, commissioning, and system startup
• Basic PLC configuration and troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
• Experience with IP addressing, industrial networking, and device integration
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, and network diagrams
• Experience working with Ethernet switches, gateways, and distributed I/O systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in field environments
• Willingness to travel extensively (50%+) and work extended hours during commissioning phases
Pay Range

Pay Range: $36/hr- $41/hr
