Job description:

ROLE AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Automation Designer/Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the design and implementation of the automation framework and automated test scripts of SBS products and solutions. The candidate is responsible for automation design, implementation, execution and reporting tests to deliver a product of the highest quality.

He or she should be self-motivated, creative, proactive and collaborative. The Automation Designer will work closely with the embedded software designers, hardware designers, product owner, V&V specialists and stakeholders, automating tests, tracking/reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating resolution.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

* Interact with product owner, development teams and stakeholders to develop a strong understanding of the product and testing objectives.

* Participate in design review and ensure design requirements are testable and automatable.

* Design, implement and maintain well-formed and scalable test framework for various functional and non-functional stage of the software development life cycle.

* Develop, implement and maintain high value test scripts for various functional and non-functional testing.

* Support continuous integration processes.

* Serve as technical expert on software testing and automation.

* Report and document the result of functional and non-functional automated tests.

* Communicate critical issues and status updates in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor degree in Software Engineering or an equivalent.

* A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills (English and/or French).

* Excellent understanding of verification methodology and software development life cycle.

* Solid experience in test automation tool/frameworks (Selenium, JUnit, Robot Framework, Mocha, etc.).

* Excellent knowledge of protocols (TCP, IP, Zigbee, BACnet, HTTP, FTP, DNS, SSH, etc.).

* Experience with Restful web services development and testing.

* Solid development skills in common languages (Python, Lua, JavaScript, Bash, XML, JSON, etc.).

* Experience in different hypervisors (KVM, VMware, VirtualBox, etc.)

* Solid experience in test automation and continuous integration.

* Good knowledge of GIT source control.
