About the Role
We are seeking an Applied Scientist (Level 5.5) to lead the development of next-generation generative AI capabilities for Adobe Creative Cloud, with a focus on graphics and vector-based design workflows.
In this role, you will operate at the intersection of machine learning, computer graphics, and systems engineering to transform cutting-edge research into scalable, production-ready solutions. You will drive high-impact initiatives from early exploration to productization, shaping both technical direction and user experience.
This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, open-ended problems and deliver innovations that directly impact millions of creative users worldwide.
What You’ll Do
• Lead the design and implementation of advanced generative AI solutions for vector graphics, image processing, and creative workflows.
• Translate ambiguous research ideas into well-defined technical approaches and product opportunities.
• Architect and develop end-to-end systems spanning model training, optimization, and deployment in production environments.
• Build and optimize machine learning models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, ensuring high quality, efficiency, and scalability.
• Drive performance improvements for real-time and interactive applications, including latency, memory, and compute optimization.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver impactful, user-facing features.
• Define evaluation frameworks and metrics to measure model quality, system performance, and user experience.
• Mentor and guide other scientists and engineers, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Stay current with advancements in generative AI, computer graphics, and human-computer interaction, and apply them to solve real-world problems.
What You’ll Need
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in mathematics, including linear algebra, geometry, optimization, and numerical methods.
• Proven experience in machine learning, particularly in generative models, image processing, or graphics-related domains.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with experience building production-quality systems.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, including model development, evaluation, and deployment.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize algorithms and systems for performance, especially in real-time or interactive environments.
• Experience shipping features or systems into production at scale.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Nice to Have
• Experience with generative AI techniques such as diffusion models, transformers, or multimodal systems.
• Background in computer graphics, computational geometry, or 3D modeling.
• Publications in top-tier conferences such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, or NeurIPS.
• Experience working on creative tools or user-facing design applications.
