About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Android Software Qualification Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. In this role, you will be responsible for the software qualification of mobile SoCs on the Android platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and stability of our products. This role requires a deep understanding of the Android operating system, strong scripting skills, and excellent analytical abilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of mentoring peers and contributing to a collaborative work environment. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans to validate the functionality and performance of various subsystems, including audio, camera, display, graphics, video, power, and NPU. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and resolving software defects, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for mobile SoC software qualification on Android.
• Perform in-depth testing of various subsystems, including audio, camera, display, graphics, video, power, and NPU.
• Identify, analyze, and report software defects, working closely with development teams to resolve issues.
• Automate testing processes using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl.
• Utilize Android CTS/VTS and custom test frameworks to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and stability of our products.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing methodologies and processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
• Maintain proficiency with Linux/Unix, Git, and CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• ≤ 10 years of hands-on experience in mobile SoC software qualification on Android (AOSP, HAL, kernel, device tree, init).
• Deep knowledge of at least of the following subsystems: audio, camera, display, graphics, video, power, NPU, etc.
• Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, Perl, or similar).
• Familiarity with Android CTS/VTS or custom test frameworks.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix, Git, and CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Excellent analytical ability, clear written and spoken English, and a proven track record of mentoring peers without formal authority.
• Experience with bug tracking and issue management systems (e.g., Jira).
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
