Summer Internship

Our Summer Internship is designed for students leading into their final year of university, who want to gain real life work experience in a fast past, exciting and professional environment.

As a Summer Intern, you will participate in onboarding with the UR team that will set you up for success in your role. You will also benefit from professional development sessions, networking, and social events provided by the Internship Program.

The program takes place from June – August 2026 (10-week program).

Your Role

• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of generative AI/ML models and applications, with a focus on Python-based solutions. You'll get to see how these models are built from the ground up using Python.

• Collaborate with the team to gather and process data for AI model training. Learn how data is prepared and used to train AI, with an emphasis on Python-based data manipulation libraries.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code primarily in Python. Improve your Python coding skills with real-world applications.

• Assist in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting AI software, with a focus on identifying and resolving Python-related issues. Gain experience in identifying and fixing problems in AI systems, with a focus on Python.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and software development, particularly within the Python ecosystem, with a focus on generative models. We encourage you to explore new Python technologies and libraries and share your findings.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning, learning how AI projects are managed and planned, with a focus on Python's role in the development process.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of programming concepts and software development principles.

• Proficiency in Python

• Strong mathematical background, including linear algebra, calculus, and probability, is highly desired.

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and algorithms, particularly generative models

• Experience with AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)

• Basic knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and databases.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, particularly within the Python programming language.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The pay range posted is an hourly rate of base pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.

$18 - $22 USD
