About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AI-Augmented Automation Testing Engineer to architect, develop, and maintain advanced intelligent test automation solutions for our software products. You will champion the customer perspective, creating meaningful end-to-end test scenarios that simulate real-world usage patterns and support core business goals.

In this role, you will design and implement AI-assisted testing methodologies that enhance efficiency, reliability, coverage of User Acceptance Testing, leveraging your deep expertise in traditional automation frameworks. This is a hands-on position that demands strong technical proficiency, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and a product-centric mindset.

How you’ll demonstrate Ownership

• Act as a customer advocate by designing high-value, end-to-end test scenarios that reflect real user workflows and business priorities.

• Lead QA modernization initiatives by applying AI-driven technologies to significantly expand test coverage and automation capabilities.

• Generate, optimize, and automate User Acceptance Test (UAT) scenarios using AI-enabled testing tools.

• Design, implement, and maintain AI-powered test automation frameworks to enhance coverage, accelerate test creation, and reduce maintenance overhead.

• Report defects, perform root-cause analysis and recommend actionable improvements.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable, product-centric quality assurance solutions.

• Develop self-improving test systems that learn from failures, adapt to product changes, and continuously optimize testing effectiveness.

The Impact you bring to Cognite

• 4–6 years of quality assurance experience in software or SaaS environments, preferably within industrial or data platform domains.

• Hands-on expertise with modern AI-driven QA tools (e.g., BotGauge, Katalon, LambdaTest, BrowserStack) and strong proficiency in automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent.

• Demonstrated experience in test automation development, test planning, execution, and defect management.

• Solid understanding of REST APIs, Python scripting, and data validation methodologies.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and drive overall product quality.
