Job Description
AI & IT Consultant
Role Mission
As Clearbridge's AI & IT Consultant, your mission is to help customers cut through the noise around artificial intelligence and walk away with a clear, practical path forward; one that connects real business problems to real solutions. You're not selling AI for the sake of it. You're listening carefully, asking better questions, and translating what's possible into what's actually useful for each customer's specific situation.
Internally, you're the person who looks at how the business runs -- what tickets are piling up, where the team is losing time, where quality is slipping -- and asks: could AI fix this? When the answer is yes, you help make it happen.
This role sits at the intersection of customer trust and internal innovation. You'll be working directly with customers to guide their AI strategy, and side-by-side with internal teams to make Clearbridge smarter, faster, and more effective from the inside out.
Responsibilities
Customer-Facing AI Advisory
Conduct discovery conversations with customers to understand their business goals, pain points, and current technology landscape.
Assess AI readiness and identify high-impact opportunities across automation, workflow optimization, and data utilization.
Develop clear, actionable AI adoption roadmaps tied to measurable business outcomes and ROI -- no jargon, no fluff.
Guide customers through responsible AI usage, governance considerations, and risk awareness.
Support pilot implementations and phased rollouts, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the process.
Translate complex AI capabilities into plain business language that executives and frontline teams can both act on.
Internal AI Enablement
Partner with internal teams to regularly review operational workflows and identify patterns that could be addressed through AI or automation.
Audit internal processes to surface inefficiencies that AI tools could meaningfully improve.
Recommend, implement, and optimize AI tools across service delivery, documentation, reporting, and team workflows.
Establish internal AI usage guidelines and best practices that balance innovation with responsible use.
Train internal team members on practical AI application within their day-to-day roles.
Track and report on the measurable impact of internal AI initiatives over time.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Project Managers and Solutions Engineers to ensure customer recommendations are technically feasible and scoped appropriately.
Collaborate with Sales to identify and qualify new consulting opportunities emerging from customer AI conversations.
Document consulting work accurately to support billing, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
Required
3+ years in IT consulting or working in a direct consulting capacity -- advising clients, scoping solutions, and delivering measurable outcomes.
Deep, hands-on proficiency with AI tools, automation platforms, and productivity systems. This means you have built with them, deployed them, and optimized them, not just evaluated them.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, workflow automation tools, and collaboration platforms.
Ability to evaluate AI use cases through a business lens, weighing ROI, risk, feasibility, and timing.
Experience presenting recommendations to leadership teams or business owners in clear, non-technical language.
Strong analytical thinking paired with excellent written and verbal communication.
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field -- or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Preferred
One or more recognized AI or automation credentials such as Microsoft AI-900 or AI-102, Google AI/ML certifications, IBM AI Engineering, or platform-specific certifications (Power Platform, Make, Zapier).
Experience working in or alongside an MSP or internal IT support environment.
Industry exposure in manufacturing, transportation, construction, or healthcare.
Familiarity with service desk operations or ticketing workflows.
Demonstrated experience running AI pilots or phased technology implementations.
Who You Are
You're naturally curious about how things work and instinctively ask "could this be done better?" You're comfortable sitting with a customer who has no idea where to start with AI and leaving them feeling clear and confident. You're equally comfortable walking into an internal team meeting and advocating for a smarter way to handle a recurring problem. You communicate with confidence but without ego, and you know that the best solutions are built on listening, not assumptions.
A note on AI proficiency: We will be evaluating this through a practical assessment as part of the hiring process. Candidates should be prepared to walk through AI tools they have worked with, problems they have solved, and outcomes they have driven.
