About the role
ARO is looking for an experienced solutions focussed Account Manager to join our team. Working as a Datacentre Sales Specialist you will focus on driving growth across our managed private cloud, complex connectivity, and data protection portfolio.
In this overlay role, you will partner closely with Group Account Managers and Business Development teams to identify, shape, and close datacentre and cloud opportunities within existing accounts—primarily across the mid-market segment.
Alongside this, you will take ownership of generating your own pipeline, developing direct customer relationships, and creating new business opportunities aligned with ARO’s datacentre and managed services strategy.
This is an ideal role for a commercially driven infrastructure or cloud sales professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solution-selling, and is motivated by converting opportunities into long-term managed service contracts.
Please note that this is a Hybrid role with onsite requirement 3 days a week. You must be able to commute to the office and have your own transport.
What you’ll do
• Own and deliver a personal sales quota, driving growth across datacentre, private cloud, connectivity, and data protection services
• Build, manage, and close a balanced pipeline of opportunities from both existing accounts and self-generated prospects
• Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities through direct engagement, networking, and targeted prospecting (with a focus on mid-market)
• Partner with Account Managers and Business Development teams to shape and close complex datacentre and cloud deals
• Act as a subject matter expert in datacentre and cloud solutions during customer engagements
• Lead and support the development of tailored, customer-centric infrastructure and managed service solutions
• Translate customer requirements into commercially viable proposals aligned with delivery capabilities
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, technical, and service delivery teams to ensure successful solution design and execution
• Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and visibility across all opportunities
• Engage customers directly to communicate the value of resilient infrastructure and managed services
• Support smooth handover to delivery teams, ensuring successful onboarding and long-term customer success
Requirements:
What we are looking for?
Essential:
• Experience in a business to business solutions focussed sales role
• Strong relationship building and collaborative selling skills
• Ability to develop pipeline through both account collaboration and direct prospecting
• Confidence operating in complex B2B technology sales environments
• Full UK driving license
Desirable:
• Experience selling datacentre, private cloud, infrastructure, or managed services
• Demonstrate capability of landing a new logo client and expanding the portfolio of services delivered to the client
• Demonstrate ability to lead and sell a solution within a team structure
• Experience of being a subject matter expert and leading an opportunity whilst working with other team members
