Job Overview
We’re helping our client find a creative leader to build YouTube into a major paid acquisition channel for a fast-growing DTC minerals & supplements brand. In this role, you will lead YouTube direct-response creative from concept through production, developing platform-native ads designed to convert cold traffic at scale while shaping the brand’s creative direction on YouTube.
Responsibilities
Creative Concept Development
• Generate and evolve YouTube ad concepts—hooks, angles, narrative structures, formats—that drive measurable acquisition
• Write and develop scripts built for YouTube's attention dynamics (the first 5 seconds, mid-roll retention, CTA placement)
• Bring fresh creative angles rooted in direct response principles and brand positioning
Creative Direction & Team Leadership
• Direct the internal creative team through ideation, briefing, production, and iteration
• Establish creative standards for what winning YouTube ads look like for this brand
• Build a shared creative language between strategy, production, and performance
Testing & Iteration
• Design structured creative testing frameworks (hooks, formats, lengths, messaging hierarchies)
• Analyze performance data and translate learnings into next-round creative direction
• Identify fatigue signals early and stay ahead with fresh concepts in the pipeline
Creative Pipeline Management
• Maintain a steady flow of YouTube-ready concepts capable of supporting $50k+/day in spend
• Build repeatable systems for developing, rotating, and scaling winning creative
• Document what works—angles, proof structures, emotional triggers—so learnings compound
Collaboration with Media
• Partner with our Google media buyer to align creative output with campaign objectives
• Translate performance insights into specific creative recommendations
• Support scaling decisions with creative judgment and rapid iteration
Requirements:
Must-Have
• 5+ years in DTC growth, paid creative, or content strategy with deep YouTube experience
• Demonstrated success developing YouTube creative at scale ($50k+/day spend environments)
• Strong command of YouTube-specific formats, viewer behavior, and performance levers
• A portfolio or case studies showing YouTube ads you've concepted or directed
• Ability to think like a direct response copywriter and a brand strategist simultaneously
Nice-to-Have
• Experience in health, wellness, or supplements (regulated categories with compliance constraints)
• Background working with founders or small, fast-moving teams
• Familiarity with full-funnel YouTube strategy from prospecting through retargeting
