Job Description
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The What:
At Blackwave GmbH, we develop and manufacture high-performance carbon fiber components for airplanes, rockets, and satellites - pushing the limits of lightweight design and precision manufacturing. Our mission: To end COPV failure in spaceflight. The benchmark for performance, reliability and cost efficiency.
The Why:
Because quality is the foundation of innovation. Every component we deliver must perform flawlessly under extreme conditions — in the air, in orbit, and beyond. As a Working Student, you support our Quality team in maintaining high standards and contribute to ensuring that our products meet strict aerospace requirements.
Important Note:
This role is focused on Quality Assurance of our hardware (COPVs). We are not currently hiring for Software Quality Assurance positions.
This role is based in Garching with the need to sometimes travel to Taufkirchen (82024).
YOUR MISSION
• Quality Assurance Support: You assist the team in day-to-day quality activities across the product lifecycle, from development to production.
• Production Support: You support quality checks on the shop floor and help document compliance with defined quality standards.
• Documentation & Data Maintenance: You help prepare, update, and maintain quality documentation, reports, and records.
• Change Control Assistance: You support the tracking and documentation of product and process changes, ensuring transparency and traceability.
• Root Cause Analysis Support: You assist in investigating quality issues by collecting data and contributing to structured problem-solving (e.g. 5-Why, Ishikawa).
• Corrective Action Tracking: You help follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely implementation.
• Continuous Improvement Support: You support the monitoring of quality indicators and contribute ideas for improving processes and workflows.
• Audit Preparation: You assist in preparing materials and documentation for internal and external audits.
YOUR PROFILE:
• Studies: You are currently enrolled in a degree program in engineering, quality management, production technology, or a comparable field.
• First Experience (Optional): Initial exposure to a technical or manufacturing environment is a plus, but not required.
• Interest in Quality: You are eager to learn about quality processes, standards (e.g. ISO9001), and aerospace manufacturing.
• Analytical Thinking: You enjoy working with data, identifying patterns, and supporting problem-solving activities.
• Working Style: You are structured, reliable, and enjoy supporting a team in a hands-on environment.
• Language Skills: Very good English skills; German is a plus.
WHAT WE OFFER:
• Learning by doing: Gain hands-on experience by supporting real quality engineering activities in aerospace.
• Flexible working hours: Combine your studies with practical experience (up to 20 hours/week).
• Supportive environment: Work closely with experienced engineers who will guide and mentor you.
• Start-up spirit meets aerospace: Flat hierarchies, fast decisions, and room to learn and grow.
• Individual benefits: Choose between a Germany ticket, Egym-Wellpass or a tax-free benefit in kind with the Give Card.
• Fresh food every day: Shared lunch break with healthy, varied dishes.
• Alpine view included: Our roof terrace invites you to relax after work.
• Team culture: Regular exchanges, team events, and a collaborative atmosphere.
