A Workers’ Compensation Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth - Human Resources/Workers’ Compensation Division. This position provides support to assigned departments with the primary responsibility of Care Coordination and Injured Employee Support.
To be successful in this role, the candidate should be self-motivated and well-adapted to work under pressure while maintaining deadlines with speed, accuracy, and a professional and compassionate attitude. They will need to be prepared to act in the moment, as workers’ compensation claims can arise at any time.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources management, industrial relations, public administration, business administration, risk management or a related field
• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional human resources experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong professional experience in Workers’ Compensation and Human Resources practices and procedures
• Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
The Workers' Compensation Coordinator's job responsibilities include:
• Assist in day-to-day processing of the Workers’ Compensation program, including claims processing and research, medical case management, and oversight of injured employees and workers’ compensation programs.
• Analyze, interpret, and apply laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to workers’ compensation and the impact on injured employees.
• Develop and implement training and communications for employees, supervisors, and medical records coordinators regarding the workers’ compensation program.
• Provide in-person and telephonic support to individuals who have experienced a Workers’ Compensation claim.
• Serves as the point of contact and liaison between the injured employee, human resources, the department, medical providers and the TPA to ensure injured employees claims, restrictions and processes both internally and externally are followed.
• Ability to gather and analyze information and effectively communicate the findings.
• Provides instruction on workers’ compensation processes and procedures.
