About the job
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to build something from the ground up. As Data Migration Lead, you will be the single global control point for all Workday data migrations, bulk loads, and mass data movements at Sanofi. This is a newly created, critical leadership role within the Data Governance and Master Data Management (MDM) team — and you will have the mandate, authority, and resources to establish the governance framework, templates, and processes that will define how Sanofi manages data migration globally.
You will lead a team of four Data Migration and Mapping Analysts — all new hires — and work at the intersection of technology, data governance, and business transformation. From M&A integrations to global reorganizations, your work will directly enable Sanofi's operational excellence, AI readiness, and strategic growth agenda.

Key Responsibilities
Data Migration Leadership & Governance
• Own all Workday data mapping, migration, and bulk data load execution globally
• Act as the single control point for all mass data movement in Workday
• Ensure all data loaded into or extracted from Workday adheres to global data standards, governance policies, and quality rules
• Control and govern who can execute mass loads globally, preventing uncontrolled or local loads that bypass governance frameworks
Workday Data Mapping & Integration
• Own source-to-Workday field mapping for all inbound and outbound data flows
• Define and document transformation logic, validation rules, and value conversions
• Maintain a central, controlled mapping repository aligned to the global data model
• Ensure all mapping follows Workday configuration standards and global data governance requirements
Bulk Load Management & Execution
• Lead all Workday bulk loads using Enterprise Interface Builder (EiB) and other approved tools
• Design templates, sequencing, dependencies, and validation checks for all load activities
• Manage test loads, reconciliations, and production loads end-to-end
• Create and maintain migration playbooks, mock loads, and cutover plans to ensure a repeatable, audit-safe migration framework
M&A and Divestiture Excellence
• Lead Workday data migration for all acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures globally
• Assess incoming HR data from acquired entities and map to Sanofi's Workday global structure
• Define the cleansing, transformation, and loading approach for acquired employee populations
• Manage Workday data extraction and separation activities for divestitures
• Ensure Day 1 readiness for all employee data in Workday during transactions
• Coordinate with HRIS, IT, Legal, and integration teams throughout the transaction lifecycle
Organizational Change Support
• Lead mass structural and organizational data loads in Workday
• Execute reorganizations, cost center changes, and hierarchy restructuring
• Drive global standardization and harmonization loads across the organization
• Support reporting accuracy and AI readiness through correct and consistent data structures
Data Quality & Compliance
• Enforce data quality standards before any Workday load is executed
• Partner with Data Governance and Data Quality teams on remediation act

• Reject or escalate non-compliant data to protect system integrity and reporting accuracy
• Maintain a full audit trail of all Workday mass loads and migrations
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations
• Support internal and external audits with complete documentation
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Serve as the single global entry point for all Workday migration and bulk load requests
• Partner with HRIS/Workday technology teams and transformation programmes
• Advise projects on feasibility, sequencing, and risk management
• Collaborate with P&C, Org Design, Tech Strategy, GPO, and People Services teams
• Maintain a controlled library of mapping files, EiB templates, migration playbooks, load runbooks, reconciliation reports, and rollback procedures
Team Leadership
• Build and lead a team of 4 Data Migration and Mapping Analysts from the ground up
• Establish team processes, standards, and best practices for data migration governance
• Provide mentoring, performance management, and professional development for team members
• Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Workday data is fit for global reporting, payroll, and AI use
• Clean M&A and divestiture data transitions with Day 1 readiness achieved
• No uncontrolled mass updates occurring in Workday
• Full mapping transparency and reuse across the organization
• Improved data quality post-load with reduced remediation needs
• Audit-ready Workday data load environment at all times
• All mass loads following approved templates and governance processes
• Teams across the organization adopting centralized templates and playbooks
• Reduced external consulting spend for data migration work
About you
Required Qualifications
• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in information systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in data management, migration, or related roles
• Proven experience leading data migration projects in complex, global organizations
• Demonstrated M&A integration experience with significant data migration components
• Experience building and leading technical teams
Technical Expertise
• Workday EiB (Enterprise Interface Builder) certification — REQUIRED
• Workday HCM (Human Capital Management) certification — REQUIRED
• Deep expertise in data mapping, transformation, and migration methodologies
• Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices
• Experience with data quality assessment and remediation
• Knowledge of data privacy and security compliance requirements
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels
• Experience working with global, cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
• Ability to influence and drive change across organizations without direct authority
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Additional Workday certifications (Integrations, Security, etc.)
• Experience with other HRIS platforms and migration tools
• Knowledge of AI/ML applications in HR data
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience
