There really is only one question: What impact do YOU want to make?
Our Finance Transformation team is looking for a Workday Adaptive Senior Consultant to join our Auckland office!
About this team:
Our Finance Transformation team is a highly skilled and collaborative group that partners closely with CFOs, FP&A leaders, and finance teams to help organisations transform how they plan, manage performance, and make decisions.
We combine deep finance expertise with strong technology capability to deliver modern planning and performance management solutions, including Workday Adaptive Planning, across a wide range of industries. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively - with each other, our clients, and the broader Deloitte ecosystem - to deliver high‑quality outcomes that create lasting value.
Your typical day will include:
• Supporting finance‑led planning and performance management initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
• Analysing financial and operational data to generate insights and support decision‑making for senior finance stakeholders
• Building, testing, and maintaining robust multi‑dimensional financial and planning models
• Translating finance requirements into effective Planning, EPM, or system solutions (e.g. Workday Adaptive Planning)
• Supporting solution design discussions and clearly communicating system concepts to finance users
• Contributing to delivery activities across analysis, model build, testing, and documentation
• Engaging with client finance stakeholders at operational and management levels in a professional, consultative manner
• Identifying delivery risks or issues early and escalating appropriately
• Documenting models, assumptions, and solutions, and sharing knowledge to strengthen team capability
• Collaborating with colleagues across engagements and supporting the development of junior team members
Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:
• Ideally 3–7 years’ experience in FP&A, management accounting, finance business partnering, or related finance roles
• Strong financial modelling and analytical capability, with high attention to detail and data integrity
• A solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes
• Exposure to Workday Adaptive Planning or other EPM / finance systems (e.g. Anaplan, TM1, Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, Power BI, or similar)
• An interest in finance technology and the ability to translate finance processes into system concepts such as dimensions, hierarchies, assumptions, and data flows
• Experience working with senior finance stakeholders (e.g. CFOs, FP&A Leaders, Finance Business Partners)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain analysis and system concepts
• The ability to tackle ambiguous problems using a structured, logical approach
• Experience in consulting or professional services is advantageous but not essential
• A relevant professional qualification (CA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent), or working towards one
• A collaborative mindset, learning agility, and commitment to Deloitte’s values and quality standards
