Schedule: Full-Time (Approx. 30 hours/week)
Compensation: Base + Commission
Estimated Yearly Income: $50,000-$60,000
Ideal location: Central Dallas/Ft Worth area
About the Role
Work Ready is seeking a driven, outgoing relationship-builder to grow our network of employer partners across the DFW metroplex. As a Transition Developer, you will be on the front lines—walking into businesses, pitching partnerships, and building real relationships that create meaningful work experiences for high school students with disabilities.
This is not a desk job. This role is for someone who enjoys being in the community, talking to people, opening doors, and getting results. If you are a self-starter with a sales mindset who thrives on momentum and outcomes, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Proactively identify and secure new work experience sites by visiting businesses in person across the DFW metroplex.
Pitch Work Ready’s no-cost, supported work experience program to business owners and managers.
Build trust and long-term relationships with employers who host students session after session.
Educate businesses on program expectations, scheduling (16–20 hours/week, 4-5 days week), and job coach support.
Maintain a database of employer contacts, active sites, schedules, and placement history.
Coordinate with internal program staff to ensure placements run smoothly.
Follow up consistently and professionally to keep partnerships active and growing.
Who This Role Is For
A go-getter who is comfortable hearing “no” and keeps going.
Someone who enjoys sales, outreach, and relationship building.
A self-motivated professional who does not need constant oversight.
A strong communicator who can confidently explain value and build buy-in.
Someone who prefers being in the field over sitting behind a desk.
A mission-driven individual who believes in inclusive employment.
Commission Structure
Total compensation is heavily performance-based and directly tied to results.
This role is ideal for someone motivated by commission, outcomes, and earning potential.
Requirements
Willingness to drive extensively throughout the DFW metroplex.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
Organizational skills (keeping up with all student numbers and schedules) and an ability to work within strict timelines.
Comfortable working in a commission-based compensation structure.
Reliable transportation.
Work out of a home office.
Available during normal business hours.
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Sales, business development, or community outreach experience.
Workforce development, education, or disability services background.
Experience in maintaining CRM systems or contact databases.
