JOB TITLE: Women's Health Nurse Practitioner
DEPARTMENT: Medical
SUPERVISED BY: Chief Health Officer
SUMMARY:
SWLA Center for Health Services, Inc. will use the services of mid-level practitioners to compliment the care being provided by the Physicians employed by the Center. SWLA is seeking a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in providing primary and specialty care to women across the lifespan, as well as providing care to pregnant women, to ensure women receive the care they need to maintain their health and well-being. This includes, but not limited to, preventative care such as annual exams and screenings, gynecological exams, management of diabetes and hypertension.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Women’s Health focus
Current WHNP certification (NCC)
Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
DEA license and prescriptive authority (or ability to obtain)
CPR/BLS certification
Experience working in an FQHC or community health setting
Bilingual (preferred, not required)
Experience serving diverse and underserved populations
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Commitment to patient-centered, trauma-informed care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:
Provide comprehensive women’s health services including well-woman exams, gynecologic care, prenatal and postpartum care (as applicable), family planning, and menopause management
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic women’s health conditions
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including Pap smears, STI testing, and pregnancy testing
Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations
Provide patient education on reproductive health, disease prevention, and wellness
Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, nurses, and care teams to ensure coordinated care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance activities
Uphold FQHC, HRSA, and organizational policies and standards
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Clinical setting with direct patient care
Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the clinic day
Occasional lifting of supplies or equipment
