Schedule:
Regular hours are typically 7AM-5PM Monday through Friday. Schedule may be adjusted to accommodate workload including on call basis.

Summary:
Responsible to weld, repair, adjust, service and maintain equipment and machinery used on construction projects. Fabricate steel and aluminum products and structures as needed for construction projects.
Essential Functions:
Inspect and evaluate incoming equipment and machines and determine malfunctions and defects.
Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
Prefer candidate with GMAW and GTAW experience in aluminum and steel
Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tools
Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times
Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Assemble, re-assemble and disassemble various equipment and machines.
Conduct needed repair, replacement, or fabrication of damaged or worn parts.
Clean, lube and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
Maintain routine equipment maintenance schedule.
Make adjustments and repairs to equipment and machines, testing and ensuring operating efficiency.
Maintain log book of all equipment and machine repairs, services, adjustments and work performed.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Other Tasks:
Load and unload various equipment and machines from or to delivery truck.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Assist other shop and operations staff as requested.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably can also perform other tasks satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum:
Familiarity with different types and styles of welding and materials, fabrication of metal, and the maintenance and repair of construction equipment, machinery and tools.
Five years of job related experience.
Must possess a valid state driver license.
Preferred:
Two years vocational training in construction maintenance or equivalent work experience. Welding certifications Heavy equipment maintenance experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to use various construction equipment and tools, including design, uses, repairs and maintenance.
Ability to read and follow assembly and instruction manuals.
Knowledge of materials and working with various types of metal.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles related fabrication.
Ability repair equipment and machinery to ensure efficient operating.
Ability to fabricate and assemble metal products needed on jobs.
Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Knowledge of and ability repair equipment and follow related procedures.
Ability to assess and troubleshoot equipment failure/malfunctions.
Knowledge of and ability to apply first aid and applicable safety precautions.
Ability to see and record written data and information.
Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
Ability to meet equipment schedule with dependability and consistency.

Moving Mechanical Parts: Exposure to engine components, drive trains/tracks, and other mechanical parts.
Electrical: Potential exposure to electric shock from generator sets and other site equipment.
Work at Heights: Occasionally exposed to situations which require fall protection.
Radiant Energy: Rarely exposed.
Fuel & Chemicals: Exposure to diesel fuel, petroleum distillates, and related hazards.
General Construction Hazards: Must remain aware of potential risks associated with heavy equipment and construction environments.
