We currently have opportunities for energetic, hardworking individuals to join our Metal Fabrication/Welding team on the day shift (7:30AM to 4PM).

Position Summary

The Metal Fabricator/Welder is responsible for welding. This position is best suited to very versatile people that know their way around equipment and most hand tools, can read metric and imperial tape measures, are self-starters with a can-do attitude. Must be physically fit, as the job requires many different areas to work in, and some require moving material.

Overtime available depending on business need.

Key Competencies

Attention to detail and good hand eye coordination is key.

Physically fit; able to handle weights up to 23 kgs (50 lbs), standing for extended periods.

Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Document use and numeracy

Strong team working skills

Reliable and honest

Responsibilities

Ability to work in a Team and on own initiative.

Ability to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.

Read shop drawings accurately to produce material according to specifications.

Work with various materials, but mainly aluminum.

Operate a welding machine, pipe bending machine, a shear, Saw Perform inspections on finished products to ensure products produced meet quality standards.

Work with a team of individuals to build products that help build PermaCorp Group of Companies Inc.

Lift aluminum railings, panels up to 50lbs.

Requirements

Experience working with aluminum and steel rail fabrication, metal or flashing would be an asset.

Show interest and willingly strive to learn new skills, take on new assignments as the workload dictates.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, Fabricate and weld.

Experience working with a bending machine, Metal Fabrication will be an asset.

Experience using various hand tools (Drills, grinders, etc.).

Able to measure accurately in metric.
