What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role

Act as an independent credit approver for consumer and commercial lending within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with risk appetite, portfolio strategy, policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g. HKMA).

Perform comprehensive credit risk assessments, provide well‑reasoned credit recommendations, and escalate material risk issues to senior management and credit committees.

Monitor portfolio performance, concentration risks, early warning signals, and high‑risk or watchlist accounts, including remedial and restructuring cases.

Contribute to credit policy review, enhancement, and interpretation, identifying emerging risks and recommending appropriate control improvements.

Serve as a key credit partner to Business Units, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Operations, balancing risk discipline with commercial awareness.

Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to junior credit officers while promoting strong risk culture, professional judgment, and integrity.

What is required and what we’re looking for

Higher Diploma or above in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Minimum 10–15 years of relevant credit experience in regulated financial institutions, with proven independent approval authority (HKD 500K or above) and strong knowledge of credit structures, risk mitigants, and regulatory expectations.

Self-initiative and good team player

Multi-tasking and ability to manage deliverables within tight deadlines

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
