5 Star Cares is seeking compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) for weekend-only night shifts. This role is ideal for nurses seeking a flexible schedule while continuing to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive, low-stress environment.

Position Details

Location: Tampa area

Shift: 12-hour nights | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Schedule Options:

Every weekend (Saturday & Sunday)

OR Every other weekend

Patient Ratio: 1:6

Positions Available

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Registered Nurse (RN)

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and update care plans as needed

Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders

Monitor, document, and report patient conditions accurately

Collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams

Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized care environment

Respond to emergencies with professionalism and clinical confidence

Preferred Clinical Experience

Pediatric and young adult patient populations

Ventilator, tracheostomy, and G-tube management

Wound care, IV therapy, and acute clinical interventions

Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Qualifications

Associate Degree or higher in Nursing

Active Florida LPN or RN license

Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross)

Minimum experience requirements:

1 year in acute care, home health, hospice, rehab, or hospital setting

OR 6 months LPN/RN experience plus CNA, DSP, or HHA background (minimum 2 years combined experience)

Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented

Willingness to participate in designated emergency response teams (Team A, B, or C)

Ability to pass AHCA Level 2 background screening

Compensation

$25.00 – $43.00 per hour

Compensation based on license type and relevant experience
