We are seeking an experienced Web Development Manager to serve as the lead developer and technical authority across all web development efforts. In this role, you will be the centerpiece of our digital ecosystem—architecting scalable solutions, writing high-quality code, guiding technical strategy, and mentoring a team of developers to deliver best-in-class digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Development

• Lead all development efforts across web platforms, including Shopify, custom applications, integrations, and internal tools.
• Architect, code, and review technical solutions to ensure quality, scalability, and reliability.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for developers, offering expert guidance, troubleshooting, and coaching.
• Own the technical architecture of the full web ecosystem, ensuring systems remain efficient, maintainable, and aligned with business goals.

Team Management & Process Excellence

• Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of developers, setting clear expectations and ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Oversee and improve development workflows, version control practices, testing frameworks, and deployment processes.
• Lead sprint planning, technical scoping, backlog prioritization, and code review cycles.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with eCommerce, Marketing, Creative, Operations, and IT teams to translate business needs into thoughtful technical solutions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.

Systems & Performance Management

• Oversee site performance, security, and reliability across all environments and platforms.
• Maintain compliance with PCI, GDPR/CCPA, and implement robust security practices.
• Ensure accurate technical documentation of systems, architecture, and processes.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Stay ahead of web development trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
• Advocate for and implement enhancements that drive performance, efficiency, and innovation.

Requirements:
7+ years of web development experience, with deep expertise in modern frameworks, CMS platforms (Shopify, WordPress, etc.), JavaScript libraries (React, Vue), and backend technologies.

2–3+ years in a lead or managerial role with responsibility for mentoring or overseeing other developers.

Extensive experience with Shopify (Liquid, Hydrogen, Storefront API, checkout extensibility, metafields/metaobjects, custom app development).

Proven capability in hands-on coding while steering architecture and long-term technical direction.

Mastery of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility standards, and performance optimization.

Strong background in APIs, integrations, and database design/management.

Expert with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, monitoring tools, and deployment strategies.

Experience ensuring compliance with PCI, GDPR/CCPA, and implementing security best practices.

Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a track record of resolving complex technical challenges quickly.

Natural leadership qualities—able to command respect for technical expertise while uplifting and developing others.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

A passion for cooking, food culture, or the culinary world is a plus!
