Your role – Are you ready for a challenge?
The Wealth Planner is responsible for acting, along with the rest of the team, as a legal and tax expert for UHNW wealth and succession planning for Spain and Latin America, designing and validating sophisticated, insurance-based solutions, and supporting the different stakeholders for these markets.
Your responsibilities will be as follows:
Developing and maintaining thorough knowledge of the legal and tax aspects of the personal wealth and financial planning issues facing UHNW clients in Spain and Latin America (e.g. Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, etc).
Building strong relationships with wealth structuring and business development colleagues assisting and supporting them proactively in servicing partners and developing new business.
Analysing the legal and tax viability of wealth planning solutions for clients in the different jurisdictions, particularly focused on insurance-based solutions.
Developing and maintaining relationships with leading legal firms and preferred suppliers.
Liaising with external advisers: commission, analyse and summarise tax and legal opinions.
Monitoring changes to the financial planning environment internationally and investigating the potential impact or opportunities for the company in the relevant markets.
Analysing the effectiveness of non-standard large and complex cases, including client rationale in the choice of structure.
Where necessary, drafting any special and particular conditions for each policy, to adapt it to the specific client’s needs.
Participating in product and market development in conjunction with the business development team, operations and other departments, taking into account Spanish, Latin American and other relevant legal and tax frameworks as well as the internal business model, liaise with external lawyers and collaborate with the legal department.
Developing excellent working relationships with our network of sales consultants, providing them with guidance on all legal and tax aspects of client cases and provide support to the development of solutions and business relationships.
Providing legal and tax assistance on matters regarding existing business and clients to the company and its operations teams.
Participating actively in marketing initiatives, including preparation of articles, presentation at roundtable events, partner training sessions and contribution to newsletters.
Your profile – Have you got what it takes to become our Wealth Planner - Spain & LatAm?
University degree in Law. Ideally, also a degree in Business Admin or Economics. Holding a specialisation master’s degree in tax, wealth planning, or family law would be considered an important asset,
3+ years’ experience at a leading private bank, tax or law firm, Big Four, or another advisory outfit,
Experience and good working knowledge about structuring personal wealth for Spanish and/or Latin American clients, ideally across borders,
Expertise in Spanish civil and tax law. Experience in insurance law would be highly appreciated,
Ability to work autonomously, to prioritise tasks and exercise sound judgement and creativity in finding solutions,
Outstanding organisational and communication skills,
Strong client/solution focus,
Attention to detail,
Fluency in English and Spanish is a must.
