Mitigation Technician

Gallaher Co. is a leading construction company with its Hotshot Restoration division specializing in emergency services for water, fire, mold, and other disaster situations. But we're not just another restoration company - we're a one-stop service solution for the multifamily industry serving families both inside and outside our organization. 

We’re seeking a seasoned, hands-on Lead Mitigation Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of job sites, mentor field technicians, and partner closely with the Service Manager to deliver high-quality, efficient mitigation services. This is an opportunity for a proven leader who leads by example in the field.

Mitigation Technician Responsibilities

Respond to emergency calls and assess water, fire, mold, and biohazard damage.

Perform water extraction, mitigation, remediation, demolition, and restoration tasks as needed.

Lead and oversee mitigation job sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.

Direct, support, and mentor Mitigation Technicians in the field.

Assist with onboarding and training of new field technicians.

Serve as the primary field point of contact, working closely with the Service Manager to coordinate labor, equipment, and job progress.

Ensure proper documentation, job notes, photos, and updates are completed accurately and on time.

Monitor quality control, safety compliance, and customer experience on assigned jobs.

Operate, maintain, and inspect restoration equipment.

Assist with pack-outs, contents processing, deodorization, and storage.

Support warehouse organization, inventory, and equipment readiness.

Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, IICRC, and local safety regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned to support operational success.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mitigation experience (water, fire, mold, and biohazard).

At least 2 recent years of experience leading or supervising field technicians.

Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, train, and hold others accountable.

Reliable, punctual, and able to lead by example.

Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends and on-call rotations.

Available for emergency response after-hours and on weekends.

Valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV record.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Spanish is a plus (English required).

Ability to work safely at heights and in hazardous environments using proper PPE.

Must maintain a neat, professional appearance for client interaction.

Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team.

Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service with empathy during stressful situations.

IICRC certifications are a plus (WRT, ASD, AMRT), but not required.

Proficient with technology, including smartphones, tablets, and computers, and comfortable using software for:

Timekeeping and job tracking

Job management, scopes, and photo documentation

Email and internal communication
