Job Description
The Engineer Mechanical Design specifies the assigend components, develops its physical architecture / engineering Bill of Material (eBOM), performs relevant calculations and analyses and defines a robust and feasible component and assembly design.
• Completed studies in mechanical engineering or a comparable field
• Several years of experience in the automotive supplier industry, particularly in conducting tests of mechatronic products
• Perform stakeholder requirement specification analysis
• Evaluate feasibility of the component design relevant stakeholder request
• Analyze and refine stakeholder requirements and manufacturing feasibility relevant requirements
• Create requirement specifications for components
• Ensure traceability of ME requirements
• 'Develop engineering bill of material (eBOM) according to the requirements
• Decompose assembly groups into components
• 'Create models to simulate the function and behavior of the ME (sub-) systems and their building blocks acc. to the architecture (incl. mech. interfaces)
• Perform ME component calculations and analyses
• Define and initiate engineering tests
• Consolidate the results together with engineering test results and further simulation results (e.g. stress simulations)
• Document the results by creating a ME component calculation and analysis report
• 'Support Industrial Engineering to analyze manufacturing feasibility
• 'Prepare, freeze and review work products
• Evaluate maturity of the design and conclude by a release recommendation
• Contribute to the creation of usage restrictions and action plans (in case needed)
• 'Contribute to all activities at the technical interface with built-to-print component suppliers
• Provide design specification to built-to-print suppliers and support their feasibility analysis
• Contribute to Supplier Component Reviews (SCR)
• Identify and analyze Technical Risks for the ME components, contribute to DFMEA
• Support FMEA of other disciplines (Design FMEA System, Process FMEA)
• Contribute to structured problem solving and/or lead related activities
• Identify and analyze Special Characteristics
