About the Role
The Water Truck Driver supports commercial and residential landscape construction projects through water truck operation, dust control, site watering, and general labour assistance. This role involves working on active construction sites alongside crews, equipment operators, subcontractors, and supervisors in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Responsibilities include watering newly installed landscape materials, maintaining safe and clean site conditions, and supporting crews with labour and logistics tasks as required. This is a physically demanding role requiring the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform repetitive manual tasks throughout the day.
The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently while supporting overall site operations.
What You'll Do
Safely operate and maintain a water truck on active commercial and residential landscape construction sites
Water newly installed sod, seed, trees, shrubs, and plant material to support establishment and site quality
Perform dust control on construction sites, access roads, gravel areas, and work zones
Fill and manage water tank levels throughout the day while coordinating refills as required
Coordinate water refills at municipal and regional fill stations while representing the company professionally
Use the water truck to support site cleaning operations, including washing down patios, roadways, driveways, and construction areas
Handle and pull heavy water hoses across uneven terrain and large job sites
Navigate active construction sites safely around equipment, excavations, subcontractors, and crews
Support landscape crews with general labour and site servicing duties when watering demands are lower
Perform daily circle checks, inspections, and basic preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck, pumps, hoses, and related equipment
Communicate effectively with dispatch, foremen, and supervisors regarding site priorities and watering schedules
Follow all company safety procedures, Ministry regulations, and site-specific safety requirements
Support logistics and crews with additional duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Valid Ontario G Class Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
2–3 years of driving experience preferred
Previous experience operating a water truck, dump truck, or similar commercial vehicle considered an asset
Landscape construction, construction, or general labour experience considered an asset
Comfortable working around heavy equipment and active construction environments
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive physical tasks throughout the day
Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
Ability to work independently while managing changing site priorities
Strong awareness of safety practices and site conditions
Willingness to work overtime and weekends during peak construction season
