Location: Airdrie
Hours:
• Sunday: 09:00–17:00
• Monday–Thursday: 17:00–01:00
• Every 3rd Saturday: Job & finish
Pay: £12.29 per hour + 50p/hour backshift allowance

We’re now recruiting a Wash Plant Operator to support our backshift operations — an essential role ensuring that all potatoes entering production meet the highest cleanliness and quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
Wash Plant Operation & Monitoring
• Operate and monitor washing machinery safely and efficiently
• Ensure potatoes are cleaned to specification before entering production
Quality Checks
• Carry out routine quality inspections on washed product
• Maintain consistency and flag any issues promptly
Equipment Maintenance
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of wash plant equipment
• Troubleshoot minor issues to minimise downtime
Record‑Keeping & Reporting
• Document production metrics, machine performance and any issues
• Communicate equipment concerns clearly to shift supervisors
Health, Safety & Hygiene
• Follow all safety procedures and site hygiene standards
• Maintain a clean and organised work area
Team Collaboration
• Work closely with fellow operators and team leaders
• Support continuous improvement and smooth production flow
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
• Experience in a production, manufacturing, machine operator, or wash plant role
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow processes consistently
• A proactive attitude with strong problem‑solving skills
• Reliability and confidence working backshift hours
• A team‑focused approach
No wash plant experience? Training will be provided.

Requirements:
• Prior experience in a production or manufacturing role is preferred, particularly within the food industry.
• Attention to detail and strong commitment to maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a fast-paced setting.
• Good communication skills to work with supervisors and team members.
• Flexibility to work backshifts and every third Saturday as required.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a food production environment.
• A proactive and adaptable approach to learning new tasks and processes.
